Registered Solemniser & Celebrant in Ireland
Caroline McCarthy - Your Celebrant
Creating inclusive wedding ceremonies couples love
Inspired by love
My role is to make your ideas into reality. To support and guide you through the whole process of getting married.
Country House Ceremony
Don & Tracy came from America for a destination ceremony. Their day in March was sunny and we managed to have their ceremony outside.
We worked together over many months to create a ceremony that contained a sand blending ritual and a traditional Celtic handfasting.
There was lots of laughter and even more love. A memorable ceremony in the fabulous grounds of the Castlemartyr Resort in east Cork.

The legal stuff
There's a lot to make yourselves aware of with regard to the legal aspect of a marriage ceremony.
I'm a Registered Solemniser and Celebrant, there to support and guide you through the process of getting married and making it memorable. I can legally marry a couple on the day of their ceremony. This will only be possible though if you have complied with the HSE requirements and have brought along your, "Green Folder" which contains the Marriage Registration Form (MRF).
HSE
You will need to organize with the HSE to do the Notification of Intent to Marry (NOIM) meeting. It will be necessary for the couple to attend in person. Once the necessary paperwork has been completed, you will then be issued with the Marriage Registrion Form (MRF). This is also known as the Green Folder. This is the paperwork that I will use to marry you on your wedding day.
LGBTQ+
Every ceremony I conduct is inclusive of everyone. My very first wedding, way back when I started was a same sex wedding and it hadn't occured to me that it was anything other than a beautiful ceremony.
Having conducted many weddings with a variety of couples, I am happy to work with you to create your dream ceremony
THE PROCESS
1.
I get to know a little about you and what type of ceremony you would like and start writing the first draft.
I'm there to support and guide you from start to finish 🙂
2.
We sit down over Zoom and we go through the options for your ceremony. After this, I will send you a Couple's "Checklist", for you to complete.
This information allows me to then finish writing your ceremony.
3.
On the day of your wedding, I arrive about 1.5 hours before the couple, to make sure everything is ready for you and your guests.
I Liaise with the couple, the venue and other suppliers before I conduct your ceremony.

A car crash of a wedding !!
"Unfortunately, the AMAZING Caroline was involved in a serious incident when someone drove into her car on her way to our ceremony...Did it faze her? Not on your life.
Caroline made the build-up, the preparation, the ceremony planning so seamless and easy, we would not have minded that such an accident would result in a last-minute replacement for our ceremony. But she would not hear of it. THE SHOW MUST GO ON...
Caroline is amazing in every way, look no further for a Celebrant - you have found her.
The standing ovation she received from our guests following her bravery and professionalism on the day was more than earned...
Thank you, Caroline, you made our special day unforgettable."
Declan & Laura - February 2022
What past couples had to say about their wedding
Caroline McCarthy was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the moment we first spoke over Zoom, to the end of our ceremony. We were well prepared for the ceremony in advance of our big day - so the ceremony itself ran seamlessly. The booking had been made at short notice due to our original Celebrant not being available, but on the day, Caroline spoke like she had known us for twenty years! - it was very impressive!
The wedding party and guests were put at ease, and all our guests mentioned that it was one of the most enjoyable ceremonies that they had been to. We definitely couldn't recommend Caroline highly enough - she's a true professional!
~ Alan & Katie - March 2022
Caroline was amazing to work with from start to finish. She really supported us throughout the buildup to our Wedding and comprehensively prepared us for our ceremony and Wedding Day.
She made us feel very relaxed about it all and I couldn't recommend her more. All our guests loved her warm approach, personable demeanour and humour during the ceremony. We had a lot of guests raving about her afterwards.
~ Ailish & Michael - April 2022
From the moment we met Caroline we knew she was “the one” to marry us. Her guidance, experience, knowledge, and brilliant humor had us at ease throughout the whole ceremony.
Caroline set the tone for an absolutely fabulous day. She was able to accommodate us through COVID cancellations, continually contacting us for guidance and inspiration with her wonderful ideas for our ceremony.
The attention to detail is amazing from the tying the knot ritual, preparing the readings and the personalisation of our ceremony candles. We could not recommend Caroline highly enough to anyone looking for a celebrant to make their day as wonderful as Caroline helped to make ours.
~ Gordon & Elaine - May 2022
